| Sometimes, your deck just doesn't have the capability to get over certain obstacles. This thread is designed to assit you in helping to solve some flaws in your decks against certain obstacles you have trouble dealing with. All members are allowed to post their own suggestions in this thread.
Overextending solutions: Card Car D - Gives you a +1 in card advantage. Great in decks that run Gorz or Trrageodia. Maxx "C" - In the Special Summon heavy meta of today, Maxx "C" can give you a powerful edge over the competition. Pot of Duality - Not my favorite choice for dealing with problems, but it can help you out of a tight squeeze at times. Morphing Jar - Depending on the situation you use this in, it can be a blessing or a curse. DO NOT USE against Dark Worlds. Discard it when they play Dark World Dealings instead.
Troublesome Monster Removal: Mirror Force, Torrential Tribute, and Dark Hole - All of these cards can help you in getting rid of strong monsters, but may not help against those with troublesome effects, like Stardust Dragon. Gem-Knight Pearl - While the lack of effect leaves something to be desired, a monster you can bring out that has 2600 ATK for 2 Level 4s can easily crush some of the first turn monsters. Smashing Ground - Since this card doesn't target, it makes an ease of getting rid of powerful cards like Obelisk the Tormentor that would be troublesome to deal with otherwise. Dimensional Prison and Compulsory Evacuation Device - These cards can make troublesome monsters go away for a long time, if not for the rest of the duel, if used properly. Excellent against XYZ, Synchros, and fusions. Black Horn of Heaven - Instantly kills Xyz and Synchro monsters with no cost to you. Doesn't work against Fusion or Ritual Monsters.
Spell/Trap Removal: Breaker the Magical Warrior: 1900 ATK if there isn't a S/T you want to destroy, this card can get rid of a troublesome S/T easily. Mystical Space Typhoon and Heavy Storm - Do you really need to know what these are?
That's all I have for now. If you'd like suggestions for a specific deck or a specific type of problem, feel free to reply! |

| "Black Horn of Heaven" will work against one type of Fusion Summon. A "Contact" Fusion, such as the "Elemental HERO Neos" + "Neo-Spacian" Fusions, "Gladiator Beast" Fusions, or "Chimeratech Fortress Dragon". It will also work against the "V-Z" Fusions. |

| I actually have to disagree sorry. But, it's not about over extending it.
You see, the main problem users have about building decks is because they HAVEN'T perfected it. I agree with draw power and all that, but you can't predict they'll be good draws either.
For example, in a Merlantean deck, a Dark Hole's a huge no-no. Dark Hole is too situational for it. So, to obtain consistency, the best method is to either ask someone who mastered it and if you don't know anyone with the deck expertise, it's best to use the regular staples first which are:
- BTH - Mirror Force - Torrential - Dark Hole - Monster Reborn - COH - Heavy Storm - Mystical - Maxx "C" - Fiendish Chain - Compulsory Evacuation Device
Now, if that doesn't work, it's for sure you'll slowly develop the ability to know what kinda deck you run or what style is appropriate for it.
Though, to be honest, if you want a real consistent deck, start with an auto-pilot deck for every format and then do complex decks which got hit by the ban list or which aren't known much, i.e. Chromaly, Pirate, Penguin.
